Green Light Trigger

This morning was pretty funny. I pulled up behind another cycle at the major intersection crossing the hiway. His semi-big sport bike (brand brand new w/paper tags) didn't trigger the light either so we had to sit through a couple cycles until a car pulled up behind us.

So time to remidy that!

Slowly adding miles

The odometer isn't adding up the miles very fast. I have tried riding when ever I have errands to run on this side of town, before dark, when it's not raining.... Tonight I rode into Richland to visit Ginny. She loves it. I think Jim thinks I am crazy!

Grey Skies

Woke up to grey skies and now my little computer forecast popup says it is supposed to rain through Monday. Rain around here means enough drizzle to use the wipers intermittantly mixed with enough dirt and dust to make a real mess of your car. Also means I will be off the Vino as long as the roads are wet.

Snagged a spot in the Motorcycle Training School May 26-28. I explained that my Vino is an automatic and I didn't have a cycle to relearn shifting after a 30 year absence. The woman on the phone said she'd send the paperwork to ok my Vino for the course.

Mileage = 12 something something

I'd planned on doing a long ride after work today but got home a bit late. So I decided I would ride to WalMart and pick up a few items of the list. Milk, clothes pins etc. Bombing Range Road is closed for two weeks while they do the final paving on it. The detour winds around and adds at least another 2 miles each way. I didn't mind at all.

What I did mind was how few registers were open at WalMart and only 2 of the 8 self check outs were open. It was getting dusk out and my permit only allows daylight driving so in disgust I parked my cart in the middle of the magazine aisle and headed back home. Didn't break my heart one bit. We could live without milk and clothes pins.

15 - 20 mph winds made riding interesting! UPS says my new jacket will arrive the 18th. By then I should have enough seld imposed 40 mph training miles under my belt to venture east of the by-passs and go show Vicki and Ginny my scooter!! I told my self not until I got the actual jacket.

First Tank MPG

Just assuming that the previous owne filled to the same spot I did. If so the first tank got 85.5 mpg at a cost of $1.84. Beautiful ride day. I road to WallyWorld to buy sprinker parts and to gas up. Had to keep it short. Too much yard work to attend to.

Wanawish Dam Ride

Tonight I rode Canal Road and the Yakima River Road till the road ended, then out Harrington till it ended SW of the Wanawish Dam. Got in windy road practise and had a great view of the Yakima River. I then rode Bombing Range Road out to Dallas Road and over to the WalMart cutoff. Tonight's mileage: 21 miles.
